monachopsis.

noun. the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place.

From having classmates pull the skin around their eyes back to mimic mine, to calling me ‘chink’ and ‘ling ling,’ it was a daily occurrence that I was stereotyped and ostracized for my Asian heritage.
